Gangso Mobler was a leader in modern Danish design with a reputation for crafting exquisite pieces in natural materials, such as warm teak wood. Teak is a slow growing hardwood with the majority of old growth forests having been harvested between the 1930's - 70's the quality of modern teak furniture is incomparable due to the wood being harvested from younger trees which had not yet developed the defined grain of old growth wood.
This teak side table has small panels inlaid with handmade ceramic tiles for an added dose of dimension and texture. These tiles were created by ceramic artist Poul H Poulson for the Gangso Mobler company in the 1970s. Some of his designs typical characteristic is the use of Hogweed flowers and rushes, which often are printed on the tiles or images. But also circular patterns in various colors and provoked cracks are often seen in his design. In the 70s he worked most in those currently fashionable brownish shades, but towards the end of the 80s he experimented much with other more wild color paired with copper, silver and gold shades.
This table is in near perfect condition and almost looks as if it had never been used as there are no scuffs, scratches, or dents in the wood or tiles. Thankfully this table can be easily disassembled so we can ship it to you anywhere!

Due to the nature of vintage items being used, we cannot guarantee that any item will be in perfect working condition. Oftentimes vintage items need a bit more creativity to operate than a brand new item and can have unique quirks like a stiff button, or wiggly latch. We do our best to thoroughly test and describe the condition of every item we sell.
