This vanity top box was made over a hundred years ago using a new material at the time, celluloid or French Ivory which was among the first plastics ever created. Made using natural plant fibers and called French Ivory due to it's similarity in colour and texture, this vanity top trinket box comes with two of it's original accessories.

This box was made in the early 1900's before the 1920's and was commonly owned by upper class women as items like this were not only practical but also quite functional. Small round box could hold cosmetics, pills, or cotton balls, and the pointed tool appears to be a letter opener.

In excellent condition with no chips or cracks, the only wear to the box is in the hinge which has a bit of crookedness to it when viewed from the back but functions just as it should, and some corrosion to the blade of the letter opener.

Imagine yourself a fancy lady with this unique piece

Returns and exchange details

Due to the nature of vintage items being used, we cannot guarantee that any item will be in perfect working condition. Oftentimes vintage items need a bit more creativity to operate than a brand new item and can have unique quirks like a stiff button, or wiggly latch. We do our best to thoroughly test and describe the condition of every item we sell.
Returns will be handled on a case by case basis, and partial refunds will not be given under any circumstances.

Returns must be shipped back at customer's expense and original purchase and shipping will be refunded after a case is opened with Canada Post.
