General Steel Wares was a Canadian company that was established in October, 1927. They made various items, such as housewares like washtubs, baby bath tubs, oil stoves, cream cans, lanterns, metal lunch boxes, metal lanterns, etc. This company was founded by the merging of several companies including The Sheet Metal Products (SMP) Company of Canada Limited of Toronto (founded 1867). This dates this lunch box between 1867 - 1927.
This metal workman's lunch box is a part of Canada's mining and manufacturing history
Has a unique look to the exterior where the paint is slightly rubbed off of the ridges of the metal, causing a beautiful iridescent finish.
In very good condition with all the wear expected from a piece nearly a hundred years old, the only noticeable damage is a crack in the leather handle.

Due to the nature of vintage items being used, we cannot guarantee that any item will be in perfect working condition. Oftentimes vintage items need a bit more creativity to operate than a brand new item and can have unique quirks like a stiff button, or wiggly latch. We do our best to thoroughly test and describe the condition of every item we sell.
Returns will be handled on a case by case basis, and partial refunds will not be given under any circumstances.
Returns must be shipped back at customer's expense and original purchase and shipping will be refunded after a case is opened with Canada Post.
